CHICAGO & LOS ANGELES–()–Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm, and Poptent, a global video crowdsourcing and strategy company, today announced a first-of-its-kind partnership in which Edelman will deploy Poptent’s network of more than 50,000 talented videographers in 140 countries to create frequent, relevant and authentic video content for Edelman’s clients worldwide. The deal is effective immediately.
“Poptent adds a unique dimension to the world-class counsel Edelman already provides to its clients by tapping our talented international videographer community to deliver video resources and capabilities that weren’t even available a few years ago”
This agreement enables Edelman to efficiently produce high-quality videos for its clients’ various programming needs, including social media campaigns, public service announcements (PSAs) to support broader PR and integrated communication efforts, and for other online and offline uses. Poptent also supplements the award-winning creative and original video capabilities of Edelman’s sister company MATTER, Inc., a brand engagement and experiential marketing firm.
“We are experiencing strong global client demand for original online and offline video content, so the time is right for Edelman and Poptent to join forces to offer innovative solutions and uncover exciting new opportunities in video communication for our clients,” said Caroline Dettman, executive creative director, Edelman. “We already have experienced the quality of Poptent’s work and the depth of its talented creator community. We are thrilled to be working together to extend these capabilities to our worldwide client base.”
This agreement follows a successful pilot program involving the Girl Scouts of the USA, an Edelman client, which sought to create a PSA campaign to commemorate its 100th Anniversary in 2012. Edelman and Poptent worked together to produce two PSAs for Girl Scouts to help promote the launch of ToGetHerThere (www.togetherthere.org), a Girl Scouts-powered effort. The PSAs aired in most of the largest TV markets in the U.S., as well as on social media sites as part of a broader integrated marketing communications program which included print and outdoor advertising produced by MATTER, Inc.
“Poptent adds a unique dimension to the world-class counsel Edelman already provides to its clients by tapping our talented international videographer community to deliver video resources and capabilities that weren’t even available a few years ago,” said Andy Jedynak, Poptent CEO. “We are honored to work with Edelman and look forward to collaborating with them to address their clients’ video communication needs.”
