SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BUTTERFINGER® was caught with its pants down today as the Butterfinger BARmageddon News Network (or BBNN) van stalled before a massive crowd on Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter, just as thousands of Comic-Con fans were leaving the convention center at sunset. Fans quickly descended into the street and captured video and photos of the embarrassing incident, in addition to snatching up free Butterfinger bars and merchandise that tumbled out the back of the stalled news van. More than 500 lbs. of Butterfinger bars were taken in the fiasco as the crowd rushed to the news van, which was driven by a BBNN news reporting team donning the limited-edition orange underwear specially made for “the end of the world.”

Earlier, the BBNN team had been promoting Butterfinger’s “Last Spokesperson Search” at Comic-Con on Friday, July 13, with Emmy-award winning actress Jaime Pressly, and was seen giving away pairs of the limited-edition orange underwear specially designed by Butterfinger – more than 1,000 pairs of underwear were taken by fans who witnessed the vehicle stall.
